What we keep, and what we don’t.
This is the same notice parents agree to in the Parent zone’s Account page when they sign up; “here” in the text means that Account page.
What we keep: the parent's email; for each child a game-made nickname code (like "Blue Dolphin"), a preset avatar and school year; and the child's game save (which includes learning records). We never collect a child's real name, photo, location or contact details, and children never type an email.
Why: to sign in, sync saves across your child's devices, and show you learning reports. No ads, no selling data, no third-party tracking.
Weekly report: every Sunday evening we email you a summary of your child's week: days of learning, questions answered and how many were right, island school check-ins, the level in each subject, up to 3 questions still in the Mistake book with their answers, and island progress. The subject line includes your child's game nickname. The email is sent through the email service Resend. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and you can turn it off on this page any time. Each weekly report is kept on the server for one year and is deleted with your account.
Where: on Cloudflare servers (possibly outside New Zealand). Only your family can see your data.
Playing together: children only see game-made nicknames and preset emotes — no chat and no typing.
Invite codes: each child has a 6-letter invite code that can bring in 10 classmates. We only count how many times it was used, not which children used it; when a friend's family signs up with it we note which family invited them (to add trial days for the inviter). You can see your child's code here, swap it for a new one at any time, and hide it from your child in the parent zone.
Your rights: export or delete everything here at any time. To withdraw consent or ask anything, just reply to any email we send you.
